Sight: Galle Fort Tour

Discover one of Asia's best-preserved colonial fortresses, the magnificent Dutch Fort of Galle. Each visitor's picture and description of this UNESCO World Heritage Site conveys a story. Visitors are cordially welcomed to immerse themselves in the stories as the citadel has been transformed into a site of splendour, romance, and history. Walk to the lighthouse along the ramparts and down its narrow, cobblestoned streets. Housed in a 17th-century Dutch warehouse, the National Maritime Museum features an intriguing collection of marine artefacts found during underwater explorations in shipwrecks around the southern coast. The oldest breadfruit tree on the island is located within the citadel.

Sight: Mask Museum of Ambalangoda

Galle is only an hour's drive from the southern beach town of Ambalangoda. There is an abundance of talent in Sri Lanka's traditional art and subculture industry. Explore the Ambalangoda Mask Museum, which for many years has stood for complete authenticity.

Sight: Turtle Hatchery in Kosgoda

See the hatchery for turtles on Kosgoda's beach strip, where fishermen's collected turtle eggs are raised before being dumped into the sea. Currently, six of the seven species of sea turtles are in danger of extinction. Human exploitation of natural resources is mostly to blame. Fortunately, the task of protecting them has fallen to this hatchery.

Sight: Stilt Fishermen Weligama

You may see the stilt fisherman close to Weligama village. There is a long stretch of excellent golden sand in this seaside village. The most well-known aspect of this area of Sri Lanka is its stilt fisherman.

Sight: Unawatuna Beach

Due to its tranquil settings, the stunning cove surrounded by palm trees on Unawatuna's southern beach is in great demand. Unawatuna is the ideal destination for this day trip because it is bustling with people, has a large number of eateries and pubs, and is best visited in the warmer months.

Sight: Hollow Dagoba of Kalutara

Explore Kalutara Temple's magnificent hollow dagoba. The inside walls of this three-story echoey dome are painted with murals that show events from the Lord Buddha's past incarnations.
